Eyelid surgery in Dubai costs between AED 10,000 and AED 45,000 across the emirate. My own fees are AED 20,000 to AED 25,000 for a single eyelid, upper or lower, and AED 40,000 to AED 45,000 for a combined upper and lower procedure using fat transposition.
This page sets out what those fees reflect and what they include. What they reflect is that the eyelid is among the most unforgiving areas in facial surgery — the skin is the thinnest on the body, the margins are millimeters, and the difference between a refreshed eye and a hollow or pulled-down one is a matter of exactly how much is removed and how the result is supported. What the fee includes is everything: the surgery, the hospital, the anesthesia and the care around them, with nothing to pay afterward. A price quoted before an examination is a price for an operation, not for a patient, and so the exact figure follows a consultation rather than preceding it.

Why the exact figure comes after a consultation
A single number at the top of a page is tidy, and for the eyelid it would be a fiction. Eyelid surgery is not one operation. Upper eyelid surgery, correcting the heavy, hooded skin that develops with age, and lower eyelid surgery, addressing the puffiness and bags beneath the eye, are different procedures. Doing both together, with fat repositioned to restore volume rather than merely removed, is a third and larger operation.
A price given before an examination has priced the procedure, not the patient. Which eyelids need treating, how much skin and fat are involved, and whether your concern is skin, fat, or both can only be judged by examining them. You are given ranges here, and an exact figure in writing once you have been examined.
What the fee reflects: the operation itself
Most of what you are paying for is precision in an area that punishes imprecision. Here is what mine involves.
- The eyelid supported against retraction. The commonest way lower eyelid surgery goes wrong is retraction — the lid pulled downward, showing white beneath the iris and leaving the eye looking hollow or sad. I use specific techniques to support the lid and avoid that, because on the eyelid the difference between a good result and a poor one is often exactly this. Removing skin is easy; keeping the lid sitting correctly afterward is the skill — and that support work is a large part of what the fee is paying for.
- Fat repositioned, not just removed. In the combined procedure I use fat transposition — moving fat to restore volume where the eye has hollowed — rather than only cutting fat away. Over-removal is what leaves an eye looking gaunt and aged years later; repositioning is what keeps it looking rested. This is much of what the higher combined fee reflects.
- The scar hidden in the natural crease. The upper eyelid incision sits within the natural crease of the lid, where it becomes virtually invisible once healed. For the lower lid, where suitable, the approach can be made from inside the lid, leaving no external scar at all. That placement is deliberate, unhurried work, and it is priced into the fee rather than rushed.
- The anesthesia matched to the eyelid. Upper eyelid surgery I usually perform under local anesthesia — the eye is closed throughout, so there is no difficulty. For the lower lid I generally prefer general anesthesia or deep sedation, because working with instruments in front of an open, blinking eye is both harder and unnerving for the patient. The choice follows the operation, not a fixed rule — and whichever applies to you, the anesthesia is included in the fee.

What moves the figure between the ranges
Eyelid surgery divides into operations of rising extent, and that is what separates the ranges.
- A single eyelid, upper or lower, AED 20,000 to AED 25,000. Treating one lid — the upper for hooded skin, or the lower for bags and puffiness.
- Combined upper and lower with fat transposition, AED 40,000 to AED 45,000. Treating both lids in one operation, with fat repositioned to restore volume rather than only removed. It is a longer, more complex procedure, and the fat work is much of why it sits higher.
Which applies to you is settled on examination, where it can be judged whether your concern is skin, fat, or both, and whether one lid or both need treating.
Combined with other facial procedures

Eyelid surgery is often part of a wider facial rejuvenation — combined with a facelift in Dubai or a brow lift where the whole upper face has aged together — and where it is, the total reflects both procedures. I say this here rather than at the consultation, because a patient planning a combined procedure should not discover the figure across a desk after they have arranged their leave from work. A combined operation is usually the more economical choice, since one anesthetic and one recovery serve several procedures — the saving is real, but the total is higher than eyelid surgery alone.
Insurance in the UAE
I do not work with insurance companies, so payment to me is direct.
Eyelid surgery is usually cosmetic and, as such, is not covered by health insurance in the UAE. There is a genuine exception: where excess upper eyelid skin droops far enough to obstruct vision, the surgery becomes medically necessary, and some policies will in principle respond to that functional part. But because I do not work with insurers, you would pay me directly and pursue any reimbursement with your insurer yourself, rather than my billing them.
If a possible functional claim matters to your decision, take it up directly with your insurer before you see me, so you know where you stand.
Revision, and what my quotation does not promise
The figure I quote is the figure you pay for the operation we agreed. There is no hidden cost within it.
If a second procedure is later performed, that is a second operation, and it is priced as one. I would rather state that now than have you feel misled later. Much of the care I take over how much to remove, and over supporting the lid, is to avoid the results that lead to revision — but no surgeon can promise a result will never need adjusting, and I will not fold that promise into the fee.
How to get your figure
You are examined so that the concern can be identified precisely — whether it is loose skin, herniated fat, or both, on the upper lid, the lower, or each. That is what decides the operation, and therefore the figure.
